Mattel: Barbie celebrates ambitious women – 2022

In 2022, the Mattel Group is teaming up with female role models and entrepreneurs to promote gender equality. The group is signing a partnership with 12 women world leaders: Shonda Rhimes, Ari Horie, Pat McGrath, Melissa Sariffodeen, Adriana Azuara, Doani Emanuela Bertain, Jane Martino, Lan Yu, Butet Manurung, Sonia Peronaci, Tijen Onaran, Léna Mahfouf… to support the next generation of women leaders, but also to convey a positive and inclusive image to children.
Nike Women: what are girls made of? – 2017
Nike Women is recycling its recent adverts to globalise its communications for International Women’s Rights Day. The message is available in several languages, but always conveys the same message: sexist clichés are outdated, and women are here to prove it.

Contrex – We are invincible – 2017
A special mention goes to Contrex, which is abandoning its slimming message for 8 March to glorify the strength of women. There’s no room for clichés in this TV ad directed by Marcel.

McDonald’s – 2018


McDonald’s made a special mention of International Women’s Rights Day by turning its logo inside out to form a W. The W in Women, of course. This takes place in a restaurant in the United States that employs more women than men: a way, according to the manager, of paying tribute to them.

Boss Beauties: NFTs – 2022

In 2022, women will be honoured by Boss Beauties on display at the United Nations. The “Boss Beauties Role Models” collection, comprising over 10,000 NFTs, celebrates modern women who break stereotypes. Available on OpenSea, the collection aims to honour all women, regardless of age, colour or creativity. The Boss Beauties designers aim to convey a powerful message of acceptance and female empowerment.
