EDCOM

Training

Four 5th year students at Sup de Pub, Inès Mahjoub, Mélia Namjoui, Lorena Fahmy and Manyl Hendou, took advantage of their Masters to take part in a renowned international competition, the EDCOM competition. It was an experience rich in encounters with a dozen different nationalities among the students. It was an opportunity to master the English language and to think creatively and strategically.

The project

The first pan-European competition, the Ad Ventura, is an annual opportunity for different countries to compete on the same international project. The competition was created within the framework of EDCOM, the European Institute for the teaching of commercial communications between schools and universities throughout the world.

This competition gave students the opportunity to discover what it’s like to work in advertising by creating their own campaign in response to a brief from a real client. Just imagine: 400 students from 10 international universities divided into 80 teams! This year, the client was Lipton Ice Tea. The students had a twofold objective: to maintain Sir Thomas Lipton’s vision of making accessible, quality drinks, while keeping in mind the brand’s values of commitment and community.

Challenges met

The students rose to a host of challenges during the competition.

  • Integrate seamlessly into international teams by working in a foreign country
  • Developing a communication strategy that combines print and digital media
  • Working on a brief in a current context while preserving the initial product
  • Adapting to the customer’s vision by proposing innovative ideas – Reinventing the brand in the image of Gen Z

Rendering

The end result exceeded our objectives: the four5th year students won the EDCOM competition! With their digital and print solutions, they were able to respect the values of commitment that the brand and its community hold dear.

The incredible adventure ended with a presentation in London last April and an invitation to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. A week of networking with professionals from all over the world!

The role of the school

Sup de Pub offered the students an incredible playground, challenging them to excel in an international context. They benefited from top-quality support and networking opportunities for the future. The Grand Prize won by Inès, Mélia, Lorena and Manyl reaffirms the total motivation of the school’s students in the competitions and their tremendous commitment, which opens the doors to international opportunities for their future jobs.
